Hume's Hundred
Liberal Senator Jane Hume recently publicly addressed Victorian State Liberals (who had previously voted 95% against the government’s proposed cash ban legislation). Senator Hume dismissed State Liberal Party Members’ concerns about the impacts of the Bill (including potential impact to small business), calling it a ‘tin foil hat’ theory.
I have collected 100 quotes referenced from global experts in banking, economics and academia (including several of Senator Hume's former employers) that demonstrate public concerns about impacts of the cash ban are very real. I have demonstrated that experts acknowledge the link between the availability of cash and negative interest rates, the international intention of deposit bail-in in times of crisis, and the damage cash restrictions inflict on the local economy.
It is my opinion that Senator Humes is doing the Australian people a serious disservice in discounting their concerns. I believe her attitude towards State Liberal Party Members shows great disrespect. It is my opinion that Senator Hume's ‘tin foil hat’ theory claims may be intended to mislead the public, as her claims are not substantiated by any credible evidence.
