AUSTRALIAN MAGNITSKY ACT
This analysis summarises a thematic breakdown of submissions published by the Joint Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade - Human Rights Sub-committee’s ‘Inquiry into whether Australia should examine the use of targeted sanctions to address human rights abuses.’
This Inquiry is investigating the advisability of introducing legislation similar to the Magnitsky Act (MA) in Australia, which uses targeted sanctions to address human rights abuses. Submissions were analysed and collected between 23rd May - 1st June 2020. I intend to periodically review and update my analysis to include any subsequent submissions. |
